Braamfontein Spruit

Enjoy a day in the country in the city. Traverse the Braamfontein Spruit with us. This modest stream runs through western and northern Johannesburg to providing citizens with an extensive ‘green lung’, home to thousands of birds. It’s possible to walk from its starting point below Melville Koppies Nature Reserve to the Klein Jukskei River into Sandton in the north almost without touching concrete. A route that is recognized as the country’s oldest and longest urban trail.

Park to Park - Ernest Ullman Centre to Innesfree along the Sandspruit Sandton
